The Star - SOME 1,000 line dancers had fun dancing in time during the 1Malaysia Line Dance Carnival 2011 at the Sunshine Square’s event hall in Penang. The dancers from 33 line dance groups from as far as Ipoh came dressed in colourful and creative attire including as cowboys and cowgirls. Joining the dancers during the opening were Tourism Malaysia’s acting director-general Datuk Azizan Noordin, Bayan Baru Barisan Nasional co-ordinator David Yim, organising chairperson Lucille Lim and several community leaders from Bayan Baru. The carnival yesterday was held in conjunction with Mother’s Day celebration which falls on May 8.
