It was a ho ho ho jolly good time on Sat. 20 Dec at YMCA hall. Food was scrumptious. The performances were captivating.
The opening dance led by Evelyn was a real opener with the dancers flashing out to "What A Feeling" from the movie Flash Dance. Jennifer Beal (actress in the movie) couldn't have done better. The Bellied Dancers led by May Wah mesmerized everyone with their bellies! The Sheikh brought his harem of 4 from Istanbul (not Constantinople) & let them loose. Mr.Lim PH (Latin Ballroom Dance Instructor) & partner, Shirley performed the rhumba, cha cha, tango & paso doble. The Fantasy Medley by Celeste, Wendy & the Dos dancers was dazzling - ranging from jazz to pop.
'Mary Poppins' & the 'Pirate' (from the Caribbean or Somali?) captured the prizes for best costume.
There was keen competition in the games especially the tennis ball game.
Almost everyone was on the floor most of the time - dancing like there was no tomorrow.
We take this opportunity to thank all those who came for their support without which we would not have been able to make a donation of RM 1,700.00 to St. Joseph's Orphanage.
