If you don't intend to watch this musical in London, then I recommend you go to Singapore to watch now. It's really an enjoyable show. My DH who usually falls asleep after 15mins into any show, did not even have a chance to nod. Yes, it's that good. I especially like the - I think panther? - If you watch this video thriller, at the start, it's the animal at the left hand side.

The Star - SOME 1,000 line dancers had fun dancing in time during the 1Malaysia Line Dance Carnival 2011 at the Sunshine Square’s event hall in Penang. The dancers from 33 line dance groups from as far as Ipoh came dressed in colourful and creative attire including as cowboys and cowgirls. Joining the dancers during the opening were Tourism Malaysia’s acting director-general Datuk Azizan Noordin, Bayan Baru Barisan Nasional co-ordinator David Yim, organising chairperson Lucille Lim and several community leaders from Bayan Baru. The carnival yesterday was held in conjunction with Mother’s Day celebration which falls on May 8.

It was 3 days & 3 nights of fun, filled with dancing, food, laughter, food, shopping, entertaining shows, food, activities and, did I mention food? B...u..r..r...ppp! Excuse me.

Getting a close-up view of cooking salad prawns. This one, must learn, Justin's favourite dish. I'm willing to share the recipe for RM952. Hee Hee! Before you could even blink an eye, it's all gone!

Taking a break from shopping in Krabi. We also managed to pick up 2 strays.
The 'boys', 'kia su' insisted on posing for the camera also. Heading for the restaurant in Krabi. Ah.... the Penang 'kiam siaps', rather walk for 2 km in the sweltering heat, than pay 20 baht for the tuk-tuk, and complaining all the way. "So hot lah", "How much further?", "Are we there yet" . But , can still laugh, means not too bad lah, I suppose.

I went to 'kay poh' around, visiting one cabin after another. And look what I found. Classic pjs - I haven't seen these for a long, long time. Ka kakaka. Guess whose?? Some of our friends were in hair rollers, preparing for the Gala dinner. Unfortunately, they wouldn't let me take their pictures. :)

After the dinner, we, the Penang line dancers together with June (Ipoh) and a few friends, were invited to give an impromptu demo of Calypso Mexico and Twist with the fat boys during the farewell party. (This picture is borrowed from Leanne & Steve)

Before we called it a night,we had our own private casino going in cabin 8018. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of it. But just to put on record, the big winner, Peggy - don't forget our drinks on the house.

5. sun lotion, sunglasses, maybe a hat/cap
6. A bling-bling dress for gala night
7. stepsheets, hee hee!
8. the music (whoever is bringing, I'm not)
9. your bikini of course.

I don't know about you, but I seem to need to bring 3 pairs of shoes (not including the sports shoes I'll be wearing). First, I need a pair of sandals, you can't be walking around the whole day in your sports shoes, right? Then shoes for dancing, which I try to bring the least bulky. Finally, you need another pair to go with bling-bling dress 'mah'. If any of you can cut this down, pls tell me the secret. But then again, others may be bringing more pairs than me, who knows? You can also declare to me, ya?

It will be a night you’ll be talking about for many months as you will be provided with entertainment from a live band presented by a band of five, supporting singers and a colorful lady singer rendering songs from the great sixties to the nineties – forty years of memorable songs and music which you will definitely like to dance to, enjoy and sing along.
For the line dancers, you are not forgotten. Ample time will be provided before and in-between band performance for you to take to the floor and do your ‘thing’.

Line Dance lists will be prepared in advance (watch-out on this website) to help you tune-up for the night.

A seven-course sit-down dinner (ten per table), with free flow of Chinese tea and cordial drinks, will be served during the night. To appreciate your attendance, door gifts will be given to all as souvenirs to remember this night.

Tickets are priced at RM50.00 per person. Seating arrangements can be made for groups of ten persons. Don’t be left out, book/reserve early. Tickets will be issued mid-January 2011.

George Town City Day Celebration
Fifty four years ago on the 1st January 1957, in conjunction with the centenary of municipal government in Penang. George Town was elevated to the status of a city by Royal Charter granted by Queen Elizabeth II, thus becoming the first city in the Federation of Malaya. The British High Commissioner Sir Donald C. MacGillivary made the announcement on behalf of the Queen at a ceremony which took place at the Esplanade, i.e. Padang Kota Lama.
On this coming New Year's Day, celebrations will be held to give to both local people and visitors the maximum enjoyment about the unique of Penang. The theme for our celebrations this year is "George Town 1111". We are indeed honoured that George Town is City of Firsts and also gained international recognition as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Besides being the first city in Malaysia, George Town also achieved a number of firsts in many other areas.

CITY DAY PARADE 8.30PM – 11PM
An approximate of 30 groups are presented in the City Day Parade which consisted of the local communities participating in the “moving performance” at the Esplanade, such as the main highlight of Dondang Sayang, army band, Boria and Ghazal Parti, Chinese, Indian and Punjabi Cultural Show, school band, 1111 cyclist and many more. Dato’ Mahadzir Lokman was invited as the emcee of the City Day Parade.
The parade is scheduled to start at 9.00pm with attendance of the TYT of Penang State, Chief Minister of Penang, YAB Tuan Lim Guan Eng and the State dignitaries.

HELLPPPP!!!! Yipee's down.
That's right. The web hosting company has terminated Yipee Website without warning, due to heavy traffic, causing overload.
The good news is Yipee maybe down, but not out. The webmaster(s) are working on it, either changing web host or upgrading it, and may take up to a week.

Most of us are relying so much on Yipee, so it's no wonder that this downtime is upsetting so many line dancers, not only in our region, but all over the world as well.
